Living and loving like jesus

In 2025, we’re excited to expand our reach and collaborate with other community partners through our year-end Season of Impact! As we continue working toward our 5-year goals, we’re committed to four key priorities: strengthening the next generation of churches, developing future church leaders, supporting at-risk kids and teens, and fostering compassion.

Impact Fund Goal 2025

start and stregthen churches

Hard to believe, but there are still people all over the world that don’t know about the life that God has made available to us through Christ. The local church is God’s “plan A” for the spread of the Gospel and for meeting the needs of a hurting world.  Church multiplication isn’t new, in fact, for years churches have spread this gospel through church planting. We have helped to start new churches here in the metro area and our  church revitalization team has not only helped several churches become stronger, but a few have even merged together to create a brand new church!

The Local Church Initiative

As we seek to strengthen and revitalize churches in our area, we are renewing our focus on strengthening existing churches and starting new ones. Over the next ten years, we are committed to starting or significantly strengthening five churches. We will continue to support Calvary’s Local Church Initiative by providing the necessary resources for grants, care, and assessment.

Within Reach

Within Reach is a citywide network of churches and community leaders dedicated to city renewal through collaboration. They focus on initiatives like starting new churches, providing mental health training, and mobilizing volunteers for community projects. Calvary is proud to partner in this effort, helping expand its impact across the Omaha metro area.

Next GENERATION OF CHURCH LEADERS

All churches need strong leaders who both know about God’s Word and can effectively communicate it to people. There’s a lot that goes into leading each church, so we support and facilitate programs that help people learn how to be great church leaders! Over the past 20 years, Calvary has not only equipped each of us as we give of our time and abilities, but we have also worked alongside of others to develop the next level of church leaders. We’re working alongside of accredited colleges and universities to make courses and residencies available to those both early on in life, and those looking to pursue ministry as a second career.

The Calvary Leadership Institute

This year, we have a new vision to place 50 church leaders in vocational ministry over the next ten years – and – we already have more than 75 students in the pipeline. In 2024, we hosted 4 year-long residents and 6 summer interns, all moving toward full-time ministry. Looking ahead, we plan to welcome 10 more students in 2025 as we continue developing the next generation of church leaders.

10Two Project

The 10Two Project focuses on developing and supporting the next generation of church leaders by offering residencies, internships, and mentorship programs. They help churches create leadership pipelines through training and resources. Calvary partners with the 10Two Project to further this mission of cultivating future church leaders.

Summer Scholarships

Each summer, Calvary sends kids and youth on life-changing trips where they are introduced to Jesus and encouraged to live out His example. T o ensure these experiences are accessible to all, we offer scholarships to help defray the costs, making it possible for more students to participate in these meaningful opportunities for spiritual growth.

At-Risk Kids & Teens

We love kids and teens! They’re not just an exciting group inside of our church, but rather the next generation of Calvary! Research shows that the majority of people form their life-long opinion about Jesus before they reach adulthood. This means that our chance to catalyze the work that Jesus will do starts now, when this generation is here, with us! Together, we work diligently to help each know and understand that they matter to us, they matter to God, and that they matter to His mission! Through the work happening inside of our local partnerships, our reach into the community is larger than ever – this means we are able to use more of the resources available to help in new and exciting ways.

CarePortal

Through this vital community resource, Calvary ensures that kids at risk of entering the foster care system can remain in their homes. While many organizations are involved, Calvary has made a unique commitment: no request goes unanswered!

Counseling for Students

Through our partnership with CityCare Counseling, Calvary’s counseling program continues to be a crucial resource for our community. Thanks to the generosity of the Impact Fund, we can provide up to four free counseling sessions to any student, teacher, or others involved in education.

In addition, we’ve partnered with the “Within Reach” church network to achieve their vision of training 1,000 church members in mental health, establishing 20 new “counseling hubs,” and developing 100 more licensed counselors over the next ten years.

The Clothing Closet

Through our continued partnership with Papillion La Vista Community Schools, we are providing a leased space near 72nd and Hwy. 370 for their Community Closet. This “store” is open daily and serves anyone in the area. Last year, they distributed thousands of clothing articles, diapers, hygiene products, and other essentials!

Bellevue Together

Bellevue T ogether is a nonprofit that supports local families through initiatives like providing school supplies, clothing, and holiday meals. They work closely with Bellevue Public Schools to identify needs and distribute resources. Calvary partners with Bellevue T ogether to help meet these needs and make a positive impact in the community.

Youth For Christ (YFC)

Youth for Christ (YFC) in Omaha works to connect with young people aged 11-19 during critical moments in their lives. Through programs like Campus Life, Parent Life, and Juvenile Justice Ministry, YFC builds relationships that introduce youth to Jesus and provide mentorship and support, particularly for students, teen parents, and those involved in the justice system. Their mission is to uncover God’s story of hope in each student’s life. Calvary partners with YFC to further this impactful work in the Omaha community, supporting their efforts to guide youth toward a Christ-centered life.

Unleash Compassion

1 Peter 3:8 reminds us that we are to be sympathetic, to love one another, to be compassionate and humble. As a church, when we take care of others, we are compassionate. This isn’t new to Calvary, or any other church. Each week there are many ways that we each find opportunities to show compassion. Jesus was compassionate, and our mission is to live and love as He did. We want to be even more strategic in our vision for showing compassion in our local area.

The Sarpy Care Center

The Sarpy Care Center, launched in 2021, provides practical, Christ-centered help to individuals and families in the community. It offers services such as a weekly food pantry, a diaper bank, and counseling resources. The center has also established strong partnerships with the local school systems to ensure easy access to essential resources. As it grows, the Sarpy Care Center plays a crucial role in meeting the community’s needs by fostering connections and offering compassionate care.

Chayah Ministries

Chayah Ministries is a nonprofit organization focused on restoring lives through Christ-centered discipleship. They provide support for individuals struggling with addiction, trauma, and mental health challenges. Their mission is to offer a holistic approach to healing, empowering participants to live a life of purpose rooted in faith. Chayah Ministries offers a residential restoration program and other resources to foster spiritual growth, community, and recovery.

Prison Ministry

Ministry to those in prison provides hope and transformation, offering spiritual guidance, accountability, and the opportunity for inmates to experience the love and redemption found in Christ. It helps address individuals’ emotional and spiritual needs, fostering rehabilitation and reducing recidivism. Calvary is currently exploring ways to bring this valuable ministry to Sarpy County, offering spiritual support and practical resources to incarcerated individuals as they work toward personal and spiritual restoration.

Macedonian Fund and Compassion Support

These budgets provide financial support for those who call Calvary home and those connecting with us for the first time. Our team carefully assesses each need and works to meet them to care for those we journey alongside in life.

Military + Veteran Care

Calvary is uniquely positioned in our community to support active and retired military personnel. Through our long-standing relationships and partnerships, our budget is dedicated to assisting those in need right here in the local area.

Campus Partnerships

Each of our campuses has built unique partnerships tailored to their communities’ specific needs and demographics. We are actively working in Omaha, Bellevue, and Papillion, collaborating with local organizations, schools, and care facilities to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

Get Involved

We hope you’ve seen ways that you can help us make an impact like never before here in our area and around the world! We can do this, but it will take something from everyone. We give generously to deepen our trust in God and to impact the lives of others – it’s one of the rhythms we commit to when we decide to follow Jesus! Would you join us as we give together to make this vision to impact our community a reality?

PRAY

Ask, “Lord, would you have me give sacrificially? Please show me how to give a gift that will stretch my faith and be obedient to Your will.” If you’re married, pray with your spouse. If you have kids, pray with your kids as well.

GIVE YOURSELF TIME

You’ll find that the longer you genuinely pray “Lord, show me how…”, the more ways God will show you how you can participate with Him. Earnestly seek and be attentive to His Leading.

Involve your family

Ask your family members to be thinking of ideas in advance. Be sure to involve your children, no matter how young they are. This is a great opportunity to teach Biblical giving, faith, and conversing with God through prayer. As a family, read through: 2 Corinthians 8:1-12.

WRESTLE WITH THESE QUESTIONS

In what ways could we decrease expenses in order to increase our gift? In what way could we increase our income in order to increase our gift?
